It was good to see the county supervisors at our Veterans’ Memorial dedication and I thank them for their support of that wonderful tribute. With that in mind, I want to believe the supervisors are all good and decent people who want to do the right thing but I can’t, for the life of me, understand why on earth they would support the development of Santa Margarita Ranch!
Is that the sort of legacy they want to leave office with? Is that the sort of legacy they want to leave our county with?
I was appalled to read of the three supervisors who voted for the project over the objections of the other two supervisors, the Planning Commission, and the public. What were they thinking?
The only conclusion one can come away with is that they are in bed with the developers and they have carte blanche to develop anything they see fit. Is that what they want us to think?
The three supervisors who voted for the project should be ashamed of their decision. If they are not, then I suppose my thoughts of their goodness, and do-the-right-thing ethos were wrong.
As wrong as the approval of this project is wrong, and that is dead wrong!
