We reside in a single family home at 96 El Viento Ave., Pismo Beach, which directly abuts the proposed annexation and development of the huge area outside of Pismo Beach known as Spanish Springs.
On Jan. 6, 2013, we sent city leaders our letter of comment regarding the city’s proposed Spanish Springs development plan. After spending the weekend downloading and reviewing again the available information on the city’s website, we would like to register with them additional comments about the city’s proposed annexation and development of Spanish Springs.
We, as residents and taxpayers of Pismo Beach, are seriously concerned about the city’s proposed annexation and development of Spanish Springs, due to the additional major deficiencies and issues outlined below, and we request that all activity on this project immediately cease until all of these additional items are satisfactorily resolved and/or remediated.
• inadequate water plan
• potential for flooding and loss of life after an earthquake
• elderly residents can’t access and understand plan materials
• too high density of residential senior village
• Price Canyon Road must be widened to four lanes, plus turning lanes
• need for a city referendum
