NEW TIMES How did the Cayucos Wine and Food Festival start?

WELLS We started the festival in November of 2005. Since then, it has grown continuously over the years as the amount of wineries and their popularity has grown. The event has gained so much of a name for itself that some of the Central Coast’s best wineries have made the effort to be a part of our humble festival.

NEW TIMES What are some of the local wineries that will be attending this year?

WELLS We’ll be having Cayucos Wine Cellars attending, as well as some of the wineries from Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. Tolosa and Edna Valley will be making an appearance, as well as Firestone Vineyard from Paso—just to name a few.

NEW TIMES What kind of entertainment will you be having?

WELLS We’ll be having local artists and music throughout the event and many food vendors that will have dishes specifically paired for the wine you’ll be enjoying. The event costs $20, which gives you a wine glass and wine tasting of the 16 different wineries that will be attending. Wineries will be selling bottles of wine as well, if you happen to find that perfect bottle, and the whole event starts at 4 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. Bring your friends and family, as we will be having a great time celebrating what the Central Coast has to offer!
