Sometimes you just have to move on to bigger and better things. The high-flying aerialists at Suspend Motion in San Luis Obispo will soon have even more space to hang out in.
As the studio gears up for its fifth annual aerial ballet performance of Eventyr: Circus of Fairy Tales on Memorial Day weekend, its space on Suburban Road will expand into the adjoining warehouse to double its functional square-footage at the beginning of April. The additional space will allow for more classes as well as a backstage dressing room area for performances.
“We are thrilled to reach this point,” co-founder Gigi Penton said in press materials. “In just five years, we have been honored to build such a large, thriving, and growing community of aerialists and circus-arts performers that an expansion really feels necessary!”
Studio owners hope to finalize the lease on the new expanded space in time for the Spring Fling performance that takes place on April 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. Audiences can catch a sneak peak of Eventyr: Circus of Fairy Tales and get a glimpse of the expansion. Tickets for Spring Fling are $15 for general admission and $10 for youth and seniors. Visit suspendedmotion.net for more information.
