Thousands of pounds of clothing will lie in giant piles ripe for the picking at the SLO Guild Hall as Soul & Oak presents the county’s fourth Swap-O-Rama-Rama on Nov. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Swap-O-Rama-Rama is an event that strives to encourage community recycling of unwanted clothing through artistic reuse and will include various do-it-yourself workshops like basic sewing, hat making, alteration expertise, screen-printing, and more. A local artist will teach each workshop.
Tickets are $5 in advance (available at soulandoak.com) and $10 at the door. Each participant will be required to bring with them a bag of clean, unwanted clothing to donate to the swap. All proceeds of the event will be donated to the local Santa Lucia Chapter of the Sierra Club, and unused clothing at the end of the event will be donated to Goodwill.
