The Families Helping Families (FHF) Holiday Project, which connects North County families in need with sponsors who can help, has had a wonderfully successful holiday season. This year, with the support of individuals, families, groups, and businesses from North County and San Luis Obispo, we were able to make the holidays a true season of sharing for over 60 families and more than 125 children. The sponsors purchased gifts, food, Christmas trees, and decorations and delivered them in person to the families in need. We also received many cash contributions enabling us to provide for families not matched with a sponsor. We thank the many individual contributors, the Food Bank, Toys for Tots, EOC North County Homeless Services, and the Paso Robles Democratic Club for their contributions to this year’s holiday effort. FHF is a volunteer-run project of Transitional Food and Shelter and uses all donations to serve those in need in northern SLO County. To participate in our year-round efforts to provide emergency shelter for homeless clients with medical needs who are too ill to stay in local shelters, and our other programs, visit nowheretogo.com/programs.htm, or contact Pearl Munak at 238-7056.
