Generally speaking, it’s hard to beat the Village of Arroyo Grande in the adorability department, but especially not at Christmastime, when cuteness levels get cranked up to 11. The Village’s Christmas Concert and Parade already happened (overachievers!) but in case you missed it, or are just looking for more cheer, the following is a compilation of the Village’s top most precious holiday happenings, in no particular order:
• Elegant Christmas in the Village: On Sunday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m., the village presents live music and entertainment. Shop owners and staff, dressed to the nines in Victorian or holiday costumes, will be serving sweets and drinks (visitors will be encouraged to dress in their finest Victorian and/or festive gear as well).
• Christmas Trains in the Village: A Christmas-themed model train show takes place Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, from noon to 8 p.m. at the South County Historical Society’s IOOF Hall. Model trains will chug their way through miniature wintry wonderlands. The first 50 kids at the door will receive a special Christmas Train Sticker Activity Set. (Call the Historical Society for more information at 489-8282 on weekday afternoons, or visit southcountyhistory.org.)
• The Grinch at The Spot: The Studio of Performing Arts presents its holiday recital Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $12 at the door or online at thespotag.com. The Spot is at 115 W. Branch St. in Arroyo Grande.
• Santa in the Village: Santa Claus makes an appearance every Wednesday and Friday from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. until Christmas.
Now go out get yourself a steaming cup of Arroyo Grande Village old-timey holiday goodness!
