A third Atascadero Planning Commissioner has announced a resignation in less than three months, leaving four members on the seven-member panel.
Commissioner Greg Porter announced his resignation on Nov. 21, citing the anticipated birth of his second child. Tom Jones resigned on Oct. 2 and Bob Kelley stepped down on Nov. 10.
Porter was unavailable for comment as of press time.
Currently, each councilperson selects one planning commissioner, and two seats are filled by a vote of the council.
Commissioner Ellen Beraud is expected to resign prior to her first council meeting slated for Dec. 12. During that meeting, Beraud and Councilperson Mike Brennler plan to announce their Planning Commission appointees.
"I will also recommend we go to a five-person Planning Commission," newly elected councilperson Beraud said. "That way the commission will be a reflection of the council, and the council has changed."
