Recently I have noticed that the mail is getting later and later. Now it is arriving 6 p.m. at our house. Today it never came! That’s right, none of our neighbors received today’s mail.
This is not acceptable; as a small business owner, as are many of our neighbors, we rely on the mail for our business correspondence. It is not possible to reply in a timely manner, and make it to the bank, post office, etc. since the delivery is so late in the day.
Mail that is sent in town today is not getting delivered until days later. The extra time this is taking is costly to a small-business owner and ultimately to the local economy.
After discussing this with a postal employee, I have discovered that all mail for Los Osos is being routed through San Luis Obispo. Many have questioned the efficiency and cost effectiveness of doing business in this way.
Why was no one notified of this drastic change?
This change has had a profound effect on many residents of Los Osos, especially small-business owners that work out of their homes. Los Osos is a community with a large home-based business sector and relying on the postal service is essential.
