- WINE, FOOD AND BOOKS: Owners (l-r Jill Knight, Lyn Nanni, and Eileen Nunes along with Willow (the dog) have recently opened a spacious indoor and outdoor wine bar that serves food and has a variety of books for sale.
As if Cambria wasn’t already a beautifully calm environment, there’s a new gathering spot quickly becoming a second home for locals.
Walking into the Wise Owl is like walking into that guesthouse you’ve always dreamed about. Wise Owl is welcoming, and casually comfortable, with a touch of sophistication. Maybe it’s the wine and cheese talking, but casually sophisticated seems like the perfect description.
Lyn Nanni, proprietor; Jill Knight, music director and proprietor; and Eileen Nunes, manager and proprietor, are the three women who put their dreams together to create and share what the Wise Owl is today.
The Wise Owl is a bookstore, café, and wine bar that features local artists and live music. It’s all set in a space that’s open and airy, the sort of place you want to walk around barefoot as if you were in a field of daisies.
Wise Owl offers a variety of events every week. Everything from music events twice a week, book signings and Tarot readings twice a month, and poet and storytellers night as well as open mic nights once a month. There’s a calendar of events set up on their webpage with all the details of who is performing when, and what time each event takes place.
Every Friday night is flatbread pizza night, and newly introduced on Sundays is brunch. The daily menu consists of salads, desserts, cheese plates, and a variety of wine and beer.
Wise Owl is closed Monday, but open Tuesday from 3 to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon 5 p.m. Wise Owl is located at 2164 Center St, Cambria, CA 93428 (East Village, behind Robin’s Restaurant), and can be reached at 927-8888, email@example.com. They can also be followed on Facebook or you can check out their website at wiseowlcambria.com.
