Have you ever thought that maybe you're not using your car to its fullest potential? Sure, it takes you places, entertains you with music, and stores all that junk that seems to bounce back and forth between your office and home. Maybe you've even slept in it during a road trip. But have you considered using your car to attract new business clients?

  • ALL BUSINESSES BIG AND SMALL : Designing and printing advertising materials for other businesses can be a lot of work, but the results are well worth the effort for GenoaGraphix owner Paul Ferroggiaro.

# GenoaGraphix in San Luis Obispo specializes in designing and printing a variety of advertising tools, including posters, equipment for trade shows, banners, and vehicle wraps. GenoaGraphix was established in San Francisco in 1990, but four years ago owner Paul Ferroggiaro decided to relocate to San Luis Obispo, bringing his industry expertise with him.

"The technology is always changing in this industry," Ferroggiaro said. "Car wraps used to be hand painted, and now we actually print on the vinyl. You see car wraps all over San Francisco or L.A., but as these products are getting cheaper, they're starting to trickle into smaller markets."

Getting your car wrapped is considerably easier and less time-consuming than you might think. The wrap is waterproof, durable, and removable. GenoaGraphix's current location allows for indoor installation, and the process only takes a week or so from when the artwork for the design is approved. Plus, any time you step foot in GenoaGraphix, a friendly Shih Tzu named Mira instantly provides a greeting.

After moving from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo, Ferroggiaro retained many of his previous clients and still draws a significant portion of his business from outside the county, but he's also made efforts to adapt his business to its new location. All of his clients have different needs, ideas, and budgets, and he makes sure that GenoaGraphix is tailored to work with businesses of all sizes. The majority of his business in San Luis Obispo currently consists of printing decals, but as smaller businesses become familiar with cutting-edge advertising possibilities, this may change. One of his most recent services is creating customized wallpapers with business logos.

"Restaurants are a good application for logo wallpaper," Ferroggiaro said. "It's getting a lot more common, but you still don't see it a lot down here."

GenoaGraphix is located at 3485 Sacramento Dr., suite F, in San Luis Obispo. For more information, visit www.genoagraphix.com or call 546-8494.
