Page is wrong that Kinz is wrong. Intolerant Christians do not hate what homosexuals do and advocate; they fear that part of themselves that would allow themselves to be full, loving beings.
For whatever personal (not religious) reasons they have, they are afraid of opening themselves up to true love and what it would mean for them. They are afraid of taking full responsibility for their lives. In essence, they have never really grown up, instead letting God and the president make their decisions for them. Like most people’s fears, I guess it all can be traced to a fear of dying (which perhaps is why Christians place so much emphasis on resurrection and heaven).
People who are homosexuals are just like all other people (“all God’s children) and do all the same things that all other people do. I know quite a few homosexuals, and nearly all of them are smart and loving and monogamous and hold down good jobs and pay their taxes and live good, moral lives, which I can’t say for a lot of the people who I know that call themselves Christians (except for those in Santa Margarita, which seems to be blessed with a much higher proportion of loving, moral, true Christians than other parts of this crazy country).
